In Case You Missed It…
On Monday… Do parents and grandparents secretly have favourites?! What do you do when a friend lets you down? And why, oh whyyy, do people drop litter? Jo and Zoe got into all this and more.
On Wednesday… Jo and Zoe dreamt up their ideal retirement commune, complete with rave caves and cider buses. Harry Styles overshared the song he lost his virginity to, so naturally Jo and Zoe did too. Plus: Greg James and Alice Levine popped by for Crate Digging, and Jo accidentally turned herself green before recording.

🧢 Dig The Look…
So many of you asked where Zoe & Jo got their wonderful outfits for Chelsea Flower Show, so here’s our Dig The Look style guide with links to all those items and more from the past month.
Zoe’s quilted white jacket is from M&S - one of their bestsellers!
She paired her dress with some HOKA trainers.
Zoe’s gorgeous Chelsea Flower Show dress is from Liberty London.
Jo’s mini dress is from Celia B - unfortunately it is now sold out but they have loads of other great dresses on their site and you can find some on Vinted.
Jo dressed down her outfit with a casual pair of Le Bon Shoppe crew socks.
Her trainers are Nike Waffle Racer 2X. They’re no longer available but it may be worth searching on secondhand sites.
Zoe was also recently captured looking fabulous in a streetwear reel by What Are You Wearing London. She was wearing her trusty Asics trainers as well as number 15 and 16.
Both Jo and Zoe love a casual pair of adidas trousers like these Zoe was wearing on the podcast recently. Available in lots of high street shops.
American Vintage is also a firm favourite with the gals.
Zoe’s blue sweatshirt from this week’s podcast is from Black and Beech.
Jo’s striped jeans are from ME + EM - the exact pair is from a while ago, but they still have the same pattern available in several styles.
This fun graphic tee is by Myphen, available here.
Jo’s highly requested peach jumper is from Bellerose, bought in the lovely Mercantile London.
For something more summery, Jo was wearing a green version of this Xirena top this week.
Zoe raves about this M&S cross body bag. It’s out of stock in Chocolate but still available in other colours. There are lots of similar bags in highstreet shops at the moment.
She also loves these Uniqlo barrel leg trousers which come in multiple colours and lengths. She has a darker pair.
🏠 Our Later Years…
Many of us dream about buying a massive house with our friends as we get older, but few of us actually do it. Well, the women of New Ground, a women-only housing co-op for over 50s, took the plunge in 2016. 10 years later the 26 women from all walks of life are thriving in their shared housing. We loved reading about how they did it in this article from The Times, and we discussed our must-haves for a dream retirement co-op (a cider bus and a rave cave).
The women of New Ground have also released a book, Our Later Years: Shared Wisdom on Ageing Powerfully Together, all about redefining how to age well and how others can create a place to live - and live for.
Could you do communal living in your later years? What could you not live without in your shared space?
🧑🌾 In the Garden With…
We absolutely loved speaking with Arit Anderson and Frances Tophill last week for our Dig It Chelsea Flower Show special. Over the rest of the week we were lucky enough to visit many other gardens and we wanted to highlight some of our favourites:
Christina’s Cobb’s Time For Creativity Garden
Christina was so lovely to chat to and we were thrilled that her garden won a Gold Medal at the show. Her garden aimed to encourage people to reduce their screen time and return to neglected hobbies or creative interests. Read more about her garden here.
The Plant Heritage Missing Collector Garden
We also wanted to mention the team behind the Plant Heritage Missing Collector Garden - Sally-Anne, Will and Kate. Their garden really stood out to us for its creative landscaping and sculptures inspired by museum display cases, drawers and piles of books.
The YoungMinds Garden by Charlie Chase
Charlie Chase’s YoungMinds Garden was such a thoughtful and uplifting space. The planting was incredible, and we especially loved the phenomenal insect hotel wall he had created. We also got to meet some of the young people involved with the project, which supports kids who’ve experienced mental health issues, and it was brilliant seeing them so enthusiastic about gardening. The whole garden felt joyful, positive and genuinely inspiring.
💿 Crate Digging…
On Wednesday, we had the wonderful Greg James join us for Crate Digging, the part of Dig It where we share what we’ve been listening to this week:
Greg: One of my all-time favourite bands is Maxïmo Park, and the single, I Want You to Stay, means a lot to me. I bought it in HMV Newcastle when I was 21, doing student radio and early shows at Galaxy in the North East.
While I was buying the vinyl, I looked over and saw Paul Smith from the band buying a Tom Waits album! I nervously told him how much I loved the band and he signed the record for me. Years later at Radio 1, he actually remembered meeting me in HMV! It’s one of my favourite music memories and I still keep the signed copy at home.
Zoe: I absolutely love Kevin Morby and his new album Little Wide Open has been on a constant loop in my brain. I think he’s an incredible songwriter and musician, and I love the dreamy, folk-Americana feel of the record. Songs like Badlands, Javelin and Junebug are the ones I keep going back to. I’m seeing him live in Brighton in July and I can’t wait.
Jo: My Crate Digging choice this week is Bleachers and their new album Everyone for Ten Minutes. I’d been waiting ages for this album to come out and it totally lived up to the hype for me. There’s a warmth and musicality to it that I really connect with, and you can hear all the different influences blended together in a really satisfying way.
I’ve also been revisiting The Style Council and the reissue of their debut album Café Bleu. It’s packed with bonus material and songs like The Paris Match and You’re The Best Thing still sound incredible.

🌱 Digging Into Next Week…
On Monday’s Dig In, Zoe and Jo have a fascinating conversation with therapist and former NHS Mental Health Lead Owen O’Kane. Owen offers lots of tips and advice about how we can change our relationship with anxiety, and reassures us that we are not alone in dealing with it. This is not one to miss!
